Blurring the line between Country troubadours and Rock n’ Roll renegades, Zac Cross Band reminisce over once-in-a-lifetime love on their new single Too Far Gone.
The song’s sentiment arrived through drummer, Bailey Connor. “Bailey was constantly sending me lyrics,” recalls Zac. “They all had a similar sentiment in that feeling of missing someone. The feeling just straight up sucks. So, we wanted to make a song that tells a story of a fresh love and those first-time feelings that you experience with someone new.”
The Rockhampton based four-piece band found their direction in the midst of the global pandemic. After various line-up changes, they settled on the current roster, Zac (lead vocals, guitar), Lachlan Plant (lead guitar, backing vocals), Joe O’Shaughnessy (bass) and Bailey (percussion). “I think we have the dream team and I wouldn’t want to play with anyone else,” confesses Zac.
Zac Cross Band serve a potent mix of Country Rock, informed by a kaleidoscope of influences ranging from Morgan Wallen to Linkin Park. The result is heart-warming songwriting backed by stadium-worthy drums and six string fury. If Too Far Gone is just a taste of what this new act has in store, then they’ve undoubtedly branded themselves ‘one to watch’.
