Something More is the first single lifted from Sam Buckingham’s forthcoming album, Dear John.
With issues of gender equality increasingly highlighted in the media, Sam, songwriter and producer from Byron Bay, says she is adding her voice to the growing chorus of women around the world saying “enough is enough”. “I wrote this song because I was tired of being told I was asking too much—when really, all I’ve ever asked for is the absolute bare minimum of equality and respect. It’s a reminder to myself not to accept the status quo."
Despite opening shows for the likes Kasey Chambers, Katie Noonan, Matt Corby, Angus & Julia Stone and selling out her own headline tours Sam has, for the most part, flown under the music industry radar. Taking a do-it-yourself approach to her career, she has activated fans through house concerts, two album crowdfunding campaigns and ongoing membership of Patreon to fund her creative work.
