Hit the Road is the new single from country folk artist, Olive Mae. Hitting the road in late August from her hometown of Cowaramup in the southwest of Western Australia, Olive Mae has been performing as she travels across the country. She finished writing the song as she was about to embark on the big East Coast road trip that she’s currently on with her family, so the song became the theme for their travels.
An upbeat folk country track, Hit the Road conveys the message that there’s no such thing as “the right time” to get out of your comfort zone, so why not just take the leap and go for it?
Olive Mae taught herself guitar at age 18 after being inspired by artists including Frente, Paul Kelly, The Waifs, and Missy Higgins.
