Far North Queensland-based country artist, Nadine Cockrem, has released her debut single, Ember.

A cinematic country song, Ember is about losing yourself inside a destructive love. Using fire as a metaphor for emotional abuse and control, it follows a woman repeatedly lifted up, torn down and left with only an ember of herself. As the production builds, so does her awakening to a powerful truth, surviving someone’s love is not the same as being loved.

“I wrote Ember over twelve years ago while I was recovering from an emotionally abusive relationship. No matter what I did, it never felt like enough, and somewhere along the way I lost myself trying to hold everything together,” says Nadine.

Ember is a poignant song of resilience and survival.
