Track: Workin’ on Me
Single: Workin’ on Me

Hot on the heels of his number one smash hit, Hundred Percent, comes Linc Phelps’s new single, Workin’ on Me, the third single lifted from his forthcoming album, Faith & Sweat, slated for release next year.

Produced and co-written with his great mate, Gavin Carfoot, the track conjures up moments of pure nostalgia complete with vintage Jimmy Barnes vibes that instantly transport you deeper into the past.

Not one to shy away from telling stories that are deeply personal, Workin’ on Me, puts Linc’s life front and centre by paying tribute to the people who shaped him into the man he is today. “Prior to writing it I had spoken to my wife, Stacey about how I sometimes wonder if my dad was alive today would he be proud of me and the decisions I’ve made. While writing it with Gav, he suggested we put a bit of focus on who I am now and the people who were around and helped shape me,” says Linc.

“There’s a line in the chorus, ‘like a scrapbook holding their dreams’ that talks about when you grow up and become your own person. You start to discover what you want in life and sometimes that dream is different to what the people who’ve been working on you had hoped for you. It’s about navigating that and realising when you’re older, that those people were there to help you become who you are, but ultimately you grow and become your own person.”

Born and bred in Gympie, Linc is one of those salt of the earth people known far and wide in the tight-knit Australian country music industry as a good bloke, great performer and singer and all-round legend. He proudly wears his heart on his sleeve both in life and via song.
