Hunter Kaine has released her debut single Long Way from Lonely featuring Shane Nicholson.
Perhaps it is uncommon to have a three-time ARIA and multiple Golden Guitar winning artist featuring on your debut track, but it’s also easy to understand why. Hunter is an extraordinary singer and the song, written by Nashville based Australian songwriter Phil Barton (Lee Brice, Morgan Evans, Lee Kernaghan, The Wolfe Brothers), is a killer. It would seem that instead of being a long way from lonely, Hunter is in rather good company.
Hunter says that the track “is really at the core of what we all seek in life—true connection. It’s a very real, open and honest piece of music.” She is speaking from the heart, in a world, she says, “that often plays it way too cool.” Shane was her first and only choice to record the duet. “He has all the right ingredients,” she says, “both as an artist and a person. It was a wonderful, unique and inspiring journey that I’ll never forget.”
Hunter took charge of the production reins for the single, which was recorded at Rangemaster in the Dandenong Ranges, just outside of Melbourne.
