Take it Slow is the latest single lifted from Jonny Taylor’s Dig Deep album. Written by Jonny and produced by acclaimed multi-award-winning producer, Matt Fell, Take it Slow is a song about stopping to take a breath. “We all like to think we can take on the world,” says Jonny, “and it’s so easy to put too much pressure on ourselves. I learned the hard way that sometimes we just need to stop, stand still, and give ourselves a break.”
Jonny wrote Take it Slow at a time when he felt he’d been swallowed up by his own life. “My goals, aspirations, pride and desire became a massive obstacle. I could barely see straight. This song is a reminder that it’s okay to stop, ask for support and treat ourselves with a little kindness. We’re only human and we can’t do it all.”
Jonny is an emotionally charged musician who doesn't set out to sound like anybody in particular, but rather, lets his love of grunge and rock music fuse seamlessly with his passion for country storytelling, forming a unique country sub-genre dubbed “Gruntry”. He has seen mainstream success following a stint on Australia’s Got Talent in 2012 where he touched audiences around the world with his original song Young Man, written for a friend battling alcoholism. His subsequent touring lifestyle and hours in front of the microphone have earned him a reputation as one of the hardest working and most powerful singer–songwriters in the Australian music scene.
Writing music to empower and liberate people, Jonny is a man’s man who isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty, but also isn’t afraid to cry during a sad movie. These character traits are directly reflected in his music. It’s tough, edgy and masculine, but there is a vulnerability that hits home and connects with people far beyond the gruff exterior and rocky tones of his music.
