Troubadour is inspired by Jenny Mitchell’s love of life as a travelling musician and is a tribute to the realities of being on the road. As a lonely pedal steel cries, the young songwriter asks, “Troubadour, do you ever want something more?”
This release gives insight into the intimate, raw nature of Jenny’s live performance, a different side to the sounds of the songwriter’s previous singles.
“Troubadour was inspired”, says Jenny, “by a conversation with New Zealand songwriter Adam McGrath long before I caught the travel bug. Life on the road didn’t appeal to me at all back then, but my perspective has definitely changed since!”
Jenny has recently supported acts including Luke O’Shea, Felicity Urquhart and Brad Butcher. A highlight of her critically acclaimed album, Jenny sings, “as soon as I settle I get hungry for the road.”
