Dedicated to Emma Dykes’s dear friend who was diagnosed with a brain tumour late last year, The Riddle of Life is a reminder to everybody to make the most of our time. Life is unpredictable but it is important to not let it get away while there is still any ounce of hope.
After graduating from the Academy of Country Music in 2016, Emma drew on her experience as a rural Emergency Nurse to write about the lessons she learnt along the way; twelve months later she released her independently funded debut album Pay it Forward.
Since then Emma has been a finalist and semi-finalist in songwriting competitions in the US, UK and Australia and has been a support artist for Wendy Matthews and The Bushwackers. In 2018, she was awarded Female Vocalist of The Year and Song of The Year for Pay it Forward in the Oz Country Downunder’s Blue Diamond Awards. August saw her touring internationally through Germany before returning to Australia to work on album number two.
2019 started with Emma walking down the aisle to her new husband before a quick trip to Nashville with her producer Matt Fell to record the first five tracks of her highly anticipated second album titled The Riddle of Life.
