“I was talking with a few of my friends about what boys do that annoys us—turns out a lot of things!” laughs Cassidy Rae Gaiter. “One of us said, ‘arrgh don’t you just hate boys like that!’ We all just lit up and knew that was the title of the song.”
Boy Like That the new single from South Australia’s Cassidy Rae Gaiter was produced by Andy Mak, who has worked with some of the biggest names in Australian music including Tina Arena, Boy and Bear, and The McClymonts.
“Working with Andy was amazing! He was the top producer I wanted to work with so, it was really a dream come true,” said Cassidy.
Citing Taylor Swift, Kelsea Ballerini and Lennon Stella as influences on her music, Cassidy is relocating to the US in 2020 to immerse herself in the vibrant international music scene and to write songs for her forthcoming debut album.
“I’m just so excited to be fully immersed in the industry I love so much and to be able to write with such talented people everyday,” she says.
From Adelaide, Cassidy grew up surrounded by all styles of music. Since the age of five she has performed in musical theatre productions and completed her Bachelor of Music at the Australian Institute of Music in Sydney. Her debut EP was Shake It, Don’t Fake It, in 2017.
